  • The mosque is in Casablanca.

  • A guided visit covers the prayer hall, minaret hall and ablution hall.
  • Visitors must remove their shoes before entering the mosque and carry them.
What visitors see at the mosque

What visitors see at the mosque

A guided visit takes you through three parts of the mosque: the prayer hall, minaret hall and ablution hall. The Foundation’s tour also presents traditional Moroccan arts and materials, including plasterwork, carved wood, zellige, marble, tadelakt and copper.

These details give the tour a focus beyond the building’s exterior. Allow time for the guided visit itself and follow the group’s instructions as you move between spaces.

How do Hassan II Mosque tours and tickets work?

How do Hassan II Mosque tours and tickets work?

The Hassan II Mosque Foundation organizes guided tours and publishes different schedules for parts of the year, as well as a separate schedule for Ramadan. The regular schedule runs from September 16 through March 14 and from March 15 through September 15; the number of afternoon tours differs between those periods. Ramadan has its own timetable.

Guided-tour prices are 140 dirhams for foreign adults; 70 dirhams for Moroccans, residents and foreign students; and 30 dirhams for children over 6 and Moroccan students. Children under 6 enter free. A private VIP visit for groups of 10 people or fewer costs 2,200 dirhams, while groups of 100 or more receive a 50% reduction from normal guided-tour prices.

Museum visits have a separate schedule and price structure from guided tours. Check the official site before you go.

Plan your arrival around your selected tour time and the mosque’s visitor rules. Wear clothing that covers your shoulders and torso and reaches below your knees; shorts and sleeveless clothes are not permitted.

Before entering the mosque, remove your shoes and carry them with you; bags are available at the entrance. Cigarettes and drinks are prohibited during the visit. Stay with your group, keep quiet, respect the tour schedule and remain behind the safety chains around the Seguia. Video cameras, radio receivers and sound devices are not allowed inside.

How do you get to Hassan II Mosque from central Casablanca?

How do you get to Hassan II Mosque from central Casablanca?

From Washington Hotel, the mosque is about an 11-minute drive or a 43-minute walk. Choose your transport based on the time you have and the route you plan to take through the city.

If your city-centre day also includes Marché Central and Casablanca’s Old Medina, use the mosque tour time as a fixed point when planning the sequence.

Pairing the visit with the waterfront

The mosque’s setting beside the water makes the waterfront a natural companion to a visit. You can arrange your day around the guided tour, then spend time outside viewing the mosque from the shoreline.

If you’re building a fuller day around the visit, a Casablanca route from the city centre to the coast can help you plan the wider sequence, with the mosque visit as one stop and the tour schedule shaping when you go.
